More pics of the girls

Our Girls

Can you tell them apart?

The left pic is Evelyn at 3 days, the right is Emilie at 5 days.

Emilie still continues to amaze us. Her head an neck control is very good especially for a premie. She'll actually hold her own head up when you're trying to burb her and look around.

During her first well baby check the doctor mentioned we'd probably only have 10-15 minutes of alert awake time with her because she's a tiny premie and would tire easily. Um, wrong. Emilie is commonly awake for periods up to 45-50 mins.

Evelyn continues to like to help us out, by overseeing Emilie's diaper changes, fetching her bottle or bink for us, etc.

During Jens incarceration Evelyn got to have several of her aunties come and spend some time with her (babysitting so daddy could get some work done). She got to go on walks, bike rides, visits to the park/playground. All around fun time, eh?, dunno why mommy didn't think it was so great a time.

Evelyn is finally starting to come out of her shell more and more. While she still is/can be incredibly shy (even around people she knows!!!) she's starting to engage in converstation with different people. The nurses all seem to love her, as she'd walk up to them and start a conversation.

And, thanks to Auntie Heather we have a foram infestation!!! I seem to be the one most affected by this, as Evelyn continually is able to pull forams out of my hair (of all places). For those of you who don't know, a foram is a microscopic oceanic lifeform.

Everyone's a critic ...

Seems no one liked my initial picture posting of Emilie. :D Here are a few more pics. Enjoy.

Emile Brienne Pics

Here are just a few pics that we've taken since Emilie's birth. So, far everything is going well, save Jens' BP, which is still elevated slightly. Emilie seems to be just like Evelyn in many ways. She eats well, sleeps good, likes to cuddle, not to mention appearance, size and weight.

Enjoy the pics ... (fyi you can click on the pictures to see a LARGER image, hi Denise)

Happy Birthday Emilie!!!!!

The long difficult hospital stay is nearly at an end. Jenelle was induced 8/21 @ 7pm. She made it to 5cm in the middle of the night and got an epideral, but then stayed at 5cm. Around 6am she started feeling stabbing pain, and they redid the epideral at 7:30am. The epideral was just starting to take effect relieving her of the pain when she reached 10cm, and felt the "pressure", which was around 8:05am ... by 8:17am we had a baby!!! TWO pushes.

Name: Emilie Brienne
Born: 8:17am 8/22/2008
Weight: 4 lbs 09 oz
Length: 18 inches

She scored high enough on her APGAR tests not have to go to the SCN, yeah!!! We got to feed her before she was taken up to the nursery for her bath and other tests. And, Jens got some kangaroo time too.
The birth happened so quickly so that no one had a chance to come to the hospital, so no one has gotten to meet her yet. Not even her BIG sister. :)
